The Basin, located in Franconia State Park is a giant nature-made pothole formed thousands of years ago by ice and river rocks. It's granite bowl spans 20 feet and is filled by a roaring spout. The Basin's incredible beauty and perfectly rounded edges surrounding the Pemigewasset River attract tourists from all over. It is free to view and only a couple minute walk from the parking lot.

Take exit 34A off I-93. Parking is on both sides of the highway with a footbridge under I-93 South for drivers traveling North.
